Yellow Cars Hails Previously Unsung Heroes of West Midlands Recognised in Queen’s New Year’s Honours List

We’re delighted at Yellow Cars to see a variety of local superheroes involved in the arts, music and charities awarded for their contributions to the community.

32,000 children in Birmingham have benefited from John Clemson’s charity ‘Music Therapy Works.’ The chairperson of trustees from Sutton Coldfield has been awarded an M.B.E. for services to music in Birmingham.

Darren Thorpe, Yellow Cars Managing Director said, “it’s been a great year for the West Midlands area with so many people in the region recognised this year. When you consider that the Music Therapy Works charity grew from helping 7,000 children in the year 2000 and 32,000 children today. It’s a terrific success story. Then there’s Tony Linger who’s been awarded a British Empire Medal for services to the community in Sutton Coldfield. He’s hugely involved in the community with education, music, the scouts and care of the elderly. That’s just the spirit of being involved in the community we strive to promote each day.”

Mr. Thorpe added that, “a huge number of people in the West Midlands region have been honoured. The musician Goldie, Clifford Price, from Walsall will receive an M.B.E. from the Queen for his contribution to music, the television and film industries and his charity work.”

Finally, the Yellow Cars Managing Direction said, “it’s the people in the region we serve who are quietly and diligently working away each day to make the lives of families better that must be commended. Yellow Cars is proud to be part of the community for the past 21 years and we’re excited to see the next generation of West Midlanders honoured for their superhero efforts to make all of our lives better in the years to come.”

The award winning Yellow Cars is honoured to celebrate 21 years in business the West Midlands in 2016. The Mayor of Walsall awarded a Yellow Cars driver for saving the life of an elderly passenger. Here at Yellow Cars we believe in the promise of safety and constant innovation. Just like when we invested in the purchase of state-of-the-art breathalysers which we distributed free of charge to pubs in the community as part of our 2016 road safety drive to keep you and your family safer.
