Yellow Travel Welcomes World Cup Success for Solihull Dancers Supported by Birmingham Airport Trust Fund

Yellow Travel, a leading provider of Birmingham Airport transfers, has welcomed news that our local international airport has awarded a special grant to a dance school in the area for qualifying to represent England in the Dance World Cup 2016 in Jersey.

This is the latest achievement for the independent Spotlight Stage Schoolbased in North Solihull. Growing from 60 to 400 children learning to perform each week, the school has helped students perform in major West End shows, U.K. tours, many T.V. shows and commercials and at Disneyland Paris. With a population of almost 207,000, Solihull can be proud of its young people chosen to represent their country. We look forward to being their first choice for Birmingham Airport taxis into the future.

“Pupils attend classes for fun and fitness, to make friends, to increase self-confidence or with a view to becoming a professional performer,” expressed, Vicky Richards, Principal and Founder, Spotlight Stage School. “We are totally overwhelmed to receive this grant and extremely grateful to Birmingham Airport’s Trustees. The money will help us with the cost of the outfits that will be required for various competitions, particularly the Dance World Cup.”

The World Cup will see 18,000 dancers compete from 38 countries. The Solihull dancers have qualified with 14 impressive routines. In 2015, the school won a major haul of 3 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.

“Vicky and the team do an incredible job to teach young people to dance to a very high standard,” explained, Andy Holding, Corporate Responsibility Manager, Birmingham Airport. “The dedication and commitment shown by both teachers and pupils is heart-warming and the opportunities these children receive are life changing.”
